Smoke-Free UNO Campaign (2014)
In March 2014, public health student and Eta Sigma Gamma member Corey Kinnan spoke out after a cigarette-caused fire displaced fellow students in a UNO dorm. He called for a campus-wide smoking ban—helping to collect petition signatures—and championed a safer, tobacco-free environment for everyone on campus.

Gretna Green Feature (March 2020)
In a Community News article, Gretna High School alumnus Corey Kinnan and his wife Andrea traveled to Scotland’s historic village of Gretna Green for their anniversary. “We have really fallen in love with Scotland” Kinnan said, noting that locals were warm and often told them they might have been the first Nebraskans ever to visit. During their visit they toured the blacksmith shop where the original wedding anvil still stands, and Corey drew a personal connection to his hometown of Gretna, Nebraska—remarking on the shared spirit of hardworking, friendly communities. That trip deepened their affection for Scotland and helped set their course to move there this year.
